ATiK |13-06-2013 | The security forces of the fascist Turkish state´s AKP government have again attacked the ongoing Taksim resistance early in the morning with excessive use of gas bombs. The attack took place in the early hours of the morning, forced the masses present at the Taksim square to retreat into the Taksim Gezi Park where the police attacks continued. These relentless and violent attacks resulted in a high number of injured who were hospitalized. Many people were violently taken to the police stations and were taken into custody.
The protestors build barricades and resisted against the police attack. Initially the police announced that they were only going to remove the banners and flags from the Taksim Square and the AKM (Cultural Centre) but they have attacked the square with gas bombs charges. The continued resistance for many days now has spread widely to the World which the AKP government doesn´t tolerate and has started bloodshed to take revenge.
Today the ongoing struggle at the Taksim Gezi Park is not just the struggle to prevent a few trees to be felled. This struggle, this resistance is for the elimination of the obstacles in the way of rights and freedoms, to put an end to the police, state terror, against imperialism and its lackeys that destroys nature, the environment, cultural assets, that annihilates human life. It is the common struggle and resistance of various layers and segments of society.
This resistance which started two weeks ago, has spread across the country wave by wave with great sacrifices being made and has filled all the oppressed peoples with excitement and enthusiasm. This resistance spreading with the rage against the fascist system has filled us, migrants from Turkey living in Europe, with proud excitement. With the strength and believe we have from the Taksim resistance we will continue to be the voice of this resistance in Europe.
We as, The Confederation of Workers from Turkey in Europe, strongly condemn the attack by the fascist AKP government and call on all our people living in Europe, all democrats, progressives to support this resistance and to react.

We demand that all the Democratic Demands made by the Taksim Solidarity Platform are accepted immediately!
