SOLIDARITY TO THE LAID-OFF WORKERS OF THE ESENYURT MUNICIPALITY!

GREECE | 10 – 02 – 2010 | Class March (Taxiki Poreia) express our solidarity to the just struggle of the Esenyurt Municipality workers. The struggle for the re-employment of the16 workers, who were fired because they had become members of their Trade Union, is a struggle for democratic and trade union rights and in this way is a struggle that concerns us all.

Workers have only one way to defend their rights which is their organization in their respective trade unions. This prospect frightens all those that want to abolish our rights and make us slaves.

We condemn the attacks of Mayor Necmi Kadıoğlu and Deputy Mayor Emin Batmazoğlu of the Esenyurt Municipality against the workers as well as their antidemocratic stance.

We support the struggle of the workers for their right to participate in trade unions.

We demand:

Stop the Esenyurt Municipality attacks against the constitutional right of tradeunionism!

Immediate re-employment of all laid-off workers!

Immediate recognition of their Union as an organizational form of the Municipality workers!
