Turkish Soldiers Opened Fire at Protest Against Military Outpost!

Protests against the construction of a new military outpost in Lice turned violent today as Turkish soldiers opened fire on protestors. Two people were killed and several others were wounded.

Lice mayor Harun Erkus said the shooting took place as hundreds gathered near Yukari Calibuku village, 17 km north-west of Lice, Saturday afternoon. Media reports say Ramazan Baran (24) and Baki Akdemir were killed. Local sources claim another protestor was killed near the same village bu this information is still not confirmed. After the shooting Turkish army blocked all the roads to Lice and barred journalists from entering the region.

Protest have erupted in many major cities and in Europe in protest of the Lice massacre.
