The massacre in Manchester is the real face of the fascist ISIS and those who support it!

ISIS has added another bloody attack to the list of their crimes in Europe, especially France, Belgium, Germany and the UK. In this fascist attack perpetrated by ISIS, 22 people, mostly teenagers and children, have lost their lives and 64 people have been badly injured during the Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester Arena. The suicide attack, which took place around 10:30 pm on 22nd May 2017 was carried out by an ISIS member named Salman Abedi, who was originally from Libya residing in England. This massacre further exposes the nature of the fascist, reactionary, anti-freedom, anti-brotherhood and anti-equality of ISIS and the ruling classes that actively support them.

The sham of “Unity and Brotherhood” messages

As they have done in the past on similar massacres, the ruling classes once again expose their incompetence by giving a message of “Unity and brotherhood”. Similar messages put up, after various attacks in Brussels, Paris and Berlin. Though they attend the funerals and shed crocodile tears, the oppressed people know well that they are directly responsible for these attacks. Even though the perpetrators are known prior to these attacks, they were not prevented. Soon after the suicide attacks in Europe, it was revealed that the attackers were being followed by the secret services and that the authorities knew in advance that these people were preparing for such attacks. For example; in the Berlin attack where Anis Amri drove a lorry into the crowd in December 2016, it was later revealed that the German secret service had this information prior to the attack and had manipulated this information. Even the mainstream bourgeois parties have set up a committee of enquiry to investigate this affair. The fact that Anis Amri was killed, where he could have been arrested, raises more questions about the motives of the authorities. In the UK, the ministry of home affairs has later in a press release admits that Salman Abedi was known to the authorities and was followed by the authorities.

As known in the trial of the Munich Communists, progressives and revolutionaries in Europe have been arrested and given long-term sentences. In Germany alone, over 30 communists, revolutionaries and patriots are held in prisons. It is no different in other European countries. While the fascist groups, even though they are “being followed and known” to the authorities, are roaming around freely and committing attacks, the revolutionaries continue to be persecuted and are held in prisons. It is for this reason, that the ruling classes are responsible for these massacres and the crocodile tears they weep will not extinguish the fury of the oppressed people.

The Manchester Massacre is the consequence of warmongering policies of the ruling classes!

In the Middle East, imperialists powers have used the religious, sectarian and national contradictions to divide and rule and set people against each other. Imperialist powers and their lackeys are responsible for the murder of thousands of people in the Middle East by forming and manipulating groups such as ISIS for their imperialist gains. At first, ISIS was openly supported when committing crimes against Kurds and Yezidis; abducting and selling women in slave markets.

Manchester is a city where people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds (Christians, Jews, Muslims and Hindus) live side by side. Regardless of their colour, origins and religions, people in Manchester should unite against the fascist groups created and supported by the ruling classes. The proxy wars created in the Middle East by the imperialist powers including the UK are the root causes of these attacks.

We call upon all workers and toiling masses in Europe to take a resolute stand against these policies. The war in the Middle East, Africa and the Pacific is the fight between imperialist powers for the control and domination of foreign markets. This also includes the conflict in Ukraine. This has nothing to do with the interest of the workers and toiling masses. On the contrary, afraid of united struggle, the ruling classes using racist and divisive policies aim to turn native and foreign workers against each other.

As ATIK, we send our most sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in Manchester Massacre! We call upon all people of Europe to unite and stand shoulder to shoulder to fight against imperialism, fascism and racism.
