May Day is the day of unity, struggle and solidarity of the international working class, and we wish hope and strength for all world toilers and people. May Day, the struggle and resistance manifesto of the working class is a glorious and honourable day acquired through immense sacrifices in the struggle for a free, equal and sharing world.
At this historical day, it is a honourable duty to fill the streets and holler our slogans as loud as we can to create a more liveable and free world. May Day of 2010 is in the midst of the social devastation caused by the crises. However, the social ravage policies imposed by the capitalist rulers in order to overcome their crises is facing strong opposition of the working and toiling masses. The mass resistance of workers and toilers against paying the cost of the crises is becoming to have an international characteristic.
What is happening in the rulers’ world? The analysis on the nature of imperialism which is that imperialism is monopolistic capitalism with its moribund or parasitic or decaying features is reconfirmed with the reality of the international crises. Inevitably, these grievances and injustices in the system are gradually decaying and producing new bigger crises. To the pseudo-solutions presented by the rulers in order to overcome the crisis produces a new crisis. Whilst there are sinking monopolies, trusts and holding, bank, etc. even those countries shown as exemplary are being shaken by the economic collapse. In the EU countries, especially Greece, then Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, and Portugal’s economies are seriously shaken. With the growing crisis, the antagonist contradictions are deepening for the bourgeois rulers around the world. The increasing deadlocks are locking bourgeoisie into more internal and external militarism. They are trying to make all the paid toilers and world people have to pay for the bill of the crises which turned into
an enormous social upheaval. In order to prevent financial crises turn into crises of political powers the impositions of ‘police state’ or ‘state terror’ has been enhanced. Social and political destructions are broadened like a spiral to erode democracies. Rights and freedoms acquired through struggles are being usurped one by one. The menace of transforming social crises into social revolt is giving rulers nightmares and pushes them to cut-in more reactionary power vehicles.
So what is happening in the toiling people’s front? The effect of the crisis to social life in 2010 is that the number of unemployed and poverty has dramatically increased. Whereas, in many countries of the world workers and toilers has cut-in with class actions such as militant street actions, (general) strikes, factory and workplace occupations. The toiling masses’ rejection of exploitation, oppression and slavery is growing. The revolt culture is embracing the Earth again against the dominant culture of rebellion imposed by the rulers!
The social devastation imposed on the people of the world is encountered in the forms of unjust wars, bloody occupation, and the unbridled exploitation of unlimited pillage, unemployment, poverty, social insecurity and usurpation of political rights. The policies of governments to put the burden of the crisis on the shoulders of the people and the organised struggle against this are developing the class consciousness of workers and toilers. Whilst the crisis of capitalism is deepening SOCIALISM IS A HOPE AGAIN! As it’s proven by the united struggle practice of the TEKEL workers in Turkey, a legitimate and rightful resistance can create a wall of reliance against the attacks of capital. The search for creating a sharing new world as an alternative to the exploitative world is gaining speed and strength. And for this exact reason the collective duty in May Days and other days is to give strength, energy and speed in to the search for class/social liberation.
We must grow rebellion and hope on May Day so the system of exploitation, oppression and plunder demolish!
