Freedom to Political Prisoners!

DETUDAK | 11 – 03 – 2010 | The number of political prisoners increased rapidly in prisons as the class struggle under the leadership of the proletariat intensified in the beginning of the 20th century. It was during this period that solidarity organizations with political prisoners were established in many countries.

These “Red Help organizations” functioning under the leadership of the Comintern upheld and defended the rights of political prisoners internationally.

As the solidarity actions became wide spread, the Comintern declared the 18th of March as “the solidarity day with political prisoners”. Upon Cominterns decision it became a tradition to carry out actions in solidarity with political prisoners on 18th of March of every year.

Today, along with the imperialist aggression headed by the USA the increased state terror makes the solidarity with political prisoners even more important. The imperialist aggression against working class and toiling masses, oppressed peoples of the world and their leadership, and political organizations increasingly continues. The CIA interrogation center located in a farmhouse in Litvania found  in the past couple of months is just another example off this recklessness.

The ETA prisoners in Spain and France are kept under complete isolation and suppression, where, there is only one bed for every three prisoners and these prisons of modern slavery show the real face of the “European civilization”. Political prisoners in Turkey have been struggling against the F-type isolation for the last 10 years and the Turkish state has turned the prisons into centers of torture under the so-called rehabilitation treatment.

The imperialist bourgeoisie wants to protect its reign of hunger, poverty, wars and natural disasters by prison walls built around all humanity. It is the free future of all humanity that is imprisoned behind the walls of isolation. Breaking down the walls of isolation, being in solidarity with political prisoners is also defending the future of all humanity. On the 18th of March, being in solidarity with political prisoners all around the world and becoming part of their struggle is also resisting the oppressive attacks of the imperialist bourgeoisie.

Let’s not forget, that this tyranny, oppression and isolation is against humanity, to our honour and future. We invite you all to be in solidarity with political prisoners, defend our future and advance the struggle for emancipation of all humanity.
