BDP Women’s Assembly Member Killed by Her Ex-husband

Neslihan Harman ISTANBUL | 01 -09 – 2013 | Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Küçükçekmece Women’s Assembly member Neslihan Harman died on Sunday after she was shot by her ex-husband on her way to the major BDP meeting to take place in Istanbul’s Kadıköy district today on the World Peace Day.

According to the statements of eye witnesses, Harman was assaulted by her ex-husband, Zeydan Harman, with a gun when she reached Kadriye Moroglu High School in Kanarya neighborhood where buses were waiting ready to take the people to the meeting area.

Shot with three bullets, the woman was seriously wounded at the scene. She was rushed to Mehmet Akif hospital where she however lost her life soon later.

It has been learned that Harman had previously applied to police and prosecution office to denouce threats she reportedly received from her ex-husband. (ANF Istanbul)
