The fascist dictator Erdogan we want neither in Germany nor elsewhere!

He is a dictator

He is the enemy of human rights,

He is the enemy of freedom of religion,

He is the enemy of Alevism,

He is the enemy of the Kurds,

He is the enemy of the Christians, the Jews, the Ezidians and Atheists,

He is the enemy of women,

He is the enemy of the workers,

He is the enemy of freedom and democracy,

He is the enemy of press freedom,

He is the biggest supporter of IS,

The talk is about the chairman of the AKP and the President of the Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The fascist dictator R.T. Erdogan will make an official visit to the coalition government under the CDU, CSU and SPD Germany on 28 and 29 September 2018. Inviting a dictator and murderer like Erdogan to Germany means approving or supporting the repression, legal violations and massacres in Turkey.

Millions of people do not want the Erdogan regime or his visit to Germany

While the AKP used the failed coup attempt of 15 July 2016 to establish open fascism in Turkey with the proclamation of the state of emergency, it practiced unlimited state terror through the numerous emergency laws. Under the motto “Fight against FETO” it attacks all revolutionary, oppositional, progressive and democratic forces. The AKP continues its attacks unabated today. After July 15th, 49 697 people were arrested and trials against 55 000 people were introduced. While 152 journalists were arrested, 93 out of 102 parishes where the Party of Democratic Communities, DBP, was the ruling party, were placed under trusteeship and 65 council chairmen were arrested. The AKP imposed a curfew 83 times during the state of emergency in the cities of Turkey-Kurdistan. While ten HDP deputies were arrested, at least as many deputies were deprived.

During the AKP’s governorship, the number of prisons has risen steadily, most recently reaching 350. The prisons include 138 235 convicts and 223 451 people, of whom 85 216 have already been sentenced to prison terms. In addition, 658 children are detained with their mothers. The number of 69 000 detained students makes Turkey the world leader in this field. In the 15 years of AKP’s reign, 2 500 people have died in the prisons.

Since the accession of the AKP from 2002 to 2018, 14 500 women have been murdered by men, but the perpetrators have only been subject to minor penalties and thus were protected by the state. Likewise, every year dozens of queers, homosexuals and transsexuals are victims of homophobic and transphobic violence, and at the same time the activists of the LGBTI + movement are subject to increased repression. In the first nine months of 2018 alone, 150 workers were killed in “occupational accidents”. Dozens of strikes were banned and workers’ resistance suppressed.

Erdogan is a dictator who by manipulation won the early elections in Turkey on June 24th, 2018. Erdogan has been running his repression machinery at full speed during the electioneering, with the intention that the HDP will not achieve the ten-percent hurdle and Selahattin Demirtas will not win the presidential election. HDP party offices were attacked, recruiting armed paramilitary forces that attacked HDP workers and members. On the night of the election day, these paramilitary forces were sent out on the street to fight any possible contradictions against the election result, even a massacre was accepted in this context.

After the elections, Erdogan converted the country into an open-air prison

Turkey has since been converted into an open-air prison. Nobody is sure of the next day. In Turkey, people face daily the fear of being released, arrested or killed at any time. Hundreds of people who criticized Erdogan on social networks were arrested when they arrived in Turkey. Tens of thousands of people threatened with their existence in Turkey have already left the country.

People who belong to a religion other than Sunni Islam can no longer practice their religious rituals in Turkey in the meantime. The Alevis, Ezidians, Christians, Jews and Atheists face the attacks of the AKP and Erdogan on a daily basis.

Erdogan supported reactionary fascist groups like the IS and the Al Nusra Front during the civil war in Syria, further cheering this unjust war. Millions of people had to flee this war and leave the country. Through Erdogan’s command, Turkey has again shown through its logistical and military deliveries across the Turkish border and over Idlib to IS, on whose side it stands, and that it is guilty of crimes against humanity. Erdogan threatens permanently with the millions of refugees who are currently still in Turkey. The countries of Europe, and especially Germany, are steadily submitting demands to Erdogan to keep the refugees away from their countries. The Federal Republic of Germany, which sees the refugees as a danger, tries to portray Erdogan as a savior, and therefore supports him in all situations.

As German immigrants from Turkey, as German working people, progressive and democratic forces, and as native and migrant women and young people, we by no means accept a fascist dictator like Erdogan, who has repeatedly pleaded guilty, being invited to Germany. We call on everyone who defends human rights and defends social, political and religious freedoms to overthrow Erdogan’s government and win the struggle together to launch a strong and broad protest against his visit to Germany can.

  • Any support for Erdogan refers to the support of fascism
  • Down with fascism, long live the struggle for social freedom
